Meet The Priority Midwifery Team

Hi! I'm Abby.

I am a Certified Professional Midwife that is licensed in the state of Tennessee, and I own Priority Midwifery, LLC. I attended Mercy In Action College of Midwifery, graduating in January of 2022. I gained a bachelor's degree in Midwifery and attended well over 100 births during my midwifery clinicals that spanned multiple states and midwifery practices. I then worked at a busy home birth practice in Knoxville where I was able to serve many families before starting my own small practice. I am CPR and Neonatal Resuscitation Program certified.

Some of my favorite aspects of midwifery are 1) being part of such a life-changing event with families. It's a joy to provide evidence-based care to families, allowing me to share in the joy and transition (and sometimes challenging) experience that childbirth is. 2) I love educating women (and their husbands / partners) as they walk through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. It is so cool to see women gain confidence as they grow, deliver, and nurture their little ones.

My husband and I welcomed our first baby in December of 2023 and are enjoying the adventure of being parents! I have a love for traveling and culture and have a degree in Intercultural Studies! One of my favorite things to do is visit West Africa with my family serving various ministries. We have a pup named Chunk, I am an Enneagram 7, and I love spending time with my family!

Meet Rachel.

Rachel is our lovely Birth Assistant! She is my right hand woman during labor, birth, and the immediate postpartum. She assists with setting up, charting, position changes, clean up, management of potential complications, and so much more. She is BLS and NRP certified.

In addition, she is also a Certified Birth Doula, Photographer, and Childbirth Educator! While she serves all types of birth variations, she runs a faith-based business (She Births Truth, if you'd like to look her up!) that focuses on redeeming birth experiences and helping mamas process complex feelings around their birthstory. Her mission is to facilitate birth outcomes that improve, restore and heal.

Rachel is a creative, deep-feeler with an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. She loves traveling, reading, collecting houseplants & Summer. She believes chocolate and caramel should never be separated and there’s no such thing as TMI. Homeschooling her three, energetic children brings her unmeasurable joy that is never (ever) boring!

I am so thankful to have Rachel on the PM team!
